Reflecting This Lenten Season

You may not be the type of person who looks forward to Lent mainly because it is highly different from Christmas and New Year. You know that it is a season of repentance wherein you can think about all the things that you have done wrong. Even if you feel that this is pretty boring, perhaps you may think of Lent as your time to reflect upon your sins. What you can do instead is make sure that you will think of this as your second chance to prove to the Lord and to other people that you can become a better person.

Reflecting This Lenten Season

Lent is not very long. You know that you only have 6 weeks in order to become improved and better. What do you think are the things that you have to do this Lenten Season? Here are some ideas:

  1. Read the Bible

If you have never done it before or you may have tried to read the bible before but had some trouble with understanding everything, you have to remember that reading the bible does not require you to truly take things literally. You have to connect with the bible on a spiritual level so that you will know the right things to expect.

  1. Pray More Often

If in case you are having some troubles with reading the bible because some people are just not cut for reading, you may decide to talk to God more. You may do this by praying. If you often pray before going to sleep at night, perhaps you may pray more often by thanking God for your meals before you eat.

  1. Do Some Fasting

If you are used to eating everything that your heart desires whenever you want to, perhaps you may create a difference this Lenten Season. Most Catholics forego eating meat every Wednesdays and Fridays from Ash Wednesday up until Good Friday but there are some people who do not eat the food that they like from Ash Wednesday up to Black Saturday regardless of what day of the week it is. This will truly make people feel glorious on Easter when they can already eat what they want.

  1. Make Notes

If in case you would like to pray for other people, perhaps you may make notes about the people that you care for. Every day, you may pray for a certain person up until the Lenten Season ends. Some people realize that they like doing this so they continue doing it even after the Lenten Season is over.

  1. Make Time for Different Things

What are the things that you would like to do but were never able to do before because of being too busy with work and your tasks? Perhaps now is the time to reconnect with an old friend who works for a voice over agency online or may also be busy like you. You may want to catch up on reading a book. Now is the time to think about those things and you will not have any regrets.

With all of the things that you can do, you can be pretty sure that your Lenten Season will be a better spent time as compared to the others that have passed before.
